Recapping the match of the blondes (through tweets) and Nole/Rafa's wins.
I don't think there's a better way to recap the Caro/Masha match than to post screencaps from my Twitter feed.
It started off as innocent discontent. Caro wearing obnoxious ruffles, pushing like she does oh so well and hitting how many winners in the 1st set?
Oh, right. Zero. Anyways, Caro's lack of errors brought Maria to the net. Reactions?
Mhmm. Okay. Maria went on to lose 6-1 6-2, but we got something positive out of the match.
The real good news? Maria's ranking is back to 13 (highest since shoulder surgery) and she has no points to defend at Miami. Tomorrow, we'll watch (or not) Caro fight it out against self-proclaimed genius Bartoli. If you don't know who to root for, here are some fun facts:
- Caroline gave Novak a red rose today. I don't know.
- Bartoli will be representing in Maria's outfit tomorrow, so you could pretend it's Masha.
- Bartoli is the last player to have beaten Caro in a Premier tournament.
On the men's side, Rafa took out Delpo in straights despite being down 3-0 in the first set. He'll meet Novak Djokovic in the final, undefeated this year at 17-0. Nole beat Federer in 3 sets and celebrated quite emphatically.
Should be a good final tomorrow!
